The quick fix is like a one night stand. You find it. You do it. You forget about it. You get the Clap from it. You search for another quick fix.
The extraordinary thing is that everyone is looking for it:
"How can I get in shape with minimal effort and not changing my eating habits?"
"What can I spend my money on to get me in shape with minimal effort and not changing my eating habits?"
"How can I make people think I'm in shape with minimal effort and not changing my eating habits?"
(2XU compression tights apparently)
The unfortunate thing for every one ever, is that you can't. Like anything else in the world, if you want to be good at it you need to constantly learn from it, and have some form of consistency to it.
The Backbone of the fitness industry is the quick fix. The ab swing, 'anabolic' supplements, shake weight. It's everywhere, and to be honest it's why the industry is running like the clappers. For instance;
If I told you that drinking 2 cups of water first thing in the morning will boost your metabolism by 24% leading to greater calorie burn throughout the day, you would do it when you wake up ,correct?
Or that eating more healthy fats will boost testosterone considerably, leading to more muscle gain and aid fat loss in men. Boys, you're demolishing an avocado right now, yes? I am.
It's these simple little changes that one can administer instantly that is a draw card; little effort, big difference.
In the acting world an example would be paying to go for a casting session with a casting agent/agency. The fact is you are paying money to be "seen" in an industry that is renowned for under payment and living below the poverty line. A massive, red, Le Miserables style flag should be slowly erecting within your head.
It's the quick fix towards stardom.
Which brings me to why I am here. I'm not going to offer you a quick fix. Because I can't. Sorry. But I can offer you direction and choice.
Direction for those who want to be the best human being they can, but don't know where to start. And choice to those who are well on their way but want to be challenged.
Start slow and simple. Drink and Walk.
Drink water. It will make you smarter, skinnier, have clearer skin, less prone to disease, have bigger muscles and best of all, drinking water will make you happy. The goal is three litres per day, which is a tit load for some. So spread it periodically throughout your day. As Rowena McEvoy advocates through song: Drink more water, until you've got clear wee!
Walking stimulates the Para-sympathetic nervous system which is also known as the relax and recover system. Due to the modern functioning of humanity we often neglect the power and potential benefit of this system, especially if you live in the city. A 30 minute walk to begin your day are the first literal steps to Boss. Think of it as a warm up for your day. So when your day actually starts you'll have more energy, be more focused and more inclined to smile rather than stress.
The quick fix myth isn't a solution, it's exactly that, a fix.
Boss Fit is here to give you direction and choice in hope of a solution. Ultimately we want you to understand there is always another level to get to. In Fitness, career and happiness. Weather you choose to take that direction, or are motivated enough to make that choice is entirely up to you. We are just the stimulus.
